The SUNY Global Initiative is important because it pulls together diverse strands of our academic community into a more unified whole. The Global Initiative is comprehensive in its framework and its ultimate goal is to bring together the efforts of the various divisions and areas. It will show not only the interconnected nature of our learning community, but of our world as well.

Ultimately the Global Initiative is a series of events intended to highlight the different skill sets of all our faculty and staff and to do so in a way that proves that a college like ours is more than the sum of its parts. By taking advantage of the comprehensive pool of knowledge of our educators, and using the Global Initiative as a clearing house to bring those skills together, we can carry out our primary goal of educating the community and do it in a collaborative and collegial fashion. It will also bring our audience up to speed on global events and processes as well.
