CENTIPEDES
Centipedes possess at least 15 pairs of legs, one on each body segment.  The last pair of legs may be elongated.  They are predators of insects, spiders, and other invertebrates.  They paralyze their prey with poison and this can cause a painful bite.  Some centipedes make silk which is used in mating (for example, males may wrap sperm in a small web).  Centipedes are rapid, active arthropods.
