EASTERN BLUEBIRD

THRUSHES

Family Turdidae

The eastern bluebird was once as abundant as the robin is today.  They have decreased in numbers since the introduced sparrows and starlings have competed with them for nesting sites.  They feed on insects, spiders, and berries.
